Meet Nicole

Registered Psychotherapist

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist, but more importantly, I’m someone who has spent a long time paying attention to what happens when life doesn’t go according to plan.

I’m interested in the places where psychology meets real life: the anger we don't quite understand, the grief we can't simply “move through,” the relationships that matter enormously to us, and the moments when the life we built no longer feels like the life we're meant to be living.

I believe therapy isn't about becoming a different person. It is about becoming more deeply acquainted with the person you already are and deciding, with greater intention, what comes next.

I work with adults who are trying to understand themselves while navigating something that has changed.

Sometimes that change looks like anger that has become difficult to manage. Sometimes it is grief, trauma, a relationship that no longer feels the way it once did, a transition you didn't choose, or the growing realization that the way you've been coping isn't working anymore.

How do I see therapy?

I don't believe people are problems to be solved.

Human beings are complicated. We carry our histories into our relationships, our bodies, our work, our parenting and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are.

Therapy gives us a place to slow down enough to notice those patterns, not simply to understand where they came from, but to decide whether they still belong in the life we're trying to build.

My approach combines psychological science with curiosity about the individual sitting in front of me. There is room for evidence, emotion, story, humour, contradiction, uncertainty and, sometimes, simply admitting that something hurts.

The goal isn't a life without difficult emotions. It's a life in which difficult emotions don't get to make every decision.

Professional Background

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with more than 15 years of clinical experience, with a particular focus on anger and emotional regulation.

My clinical work draws from evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, mindfulness and emotion-regulation strategies, alongside trauma-informed, attachment-informed and existential perspectives.

My education and continuing professional development have allowed me to bring together two things I believe belong together in therapy: the science of how people change and the deeply personal story of why change matters.

What can you expect from me?

You can expect me to take you seriously without taking every thought or feeling at face value.

I won't ask you to leave your anger, grief, fear or contradictions at the door. They're part of the information we have to work with.

I will also gently challenge you when I think something you've been doing is keeping you stuck.

Therapy with me is collaborative, thoughtful and practical. We will make room for the past, but we won't live there. We'll pay attention to what is happening now, and we'll keep asking a deceptively simple question:

What kind of life are you trying to build from here?
